This young woman had a rhinoplasty by another surgeon. Her main concerns were that her nose was too droopy and not straight from the front view. She also had difficulty breathing due to a deviated septum. She also was noted to have a bump in the middle third of the bridge. She had previous nostril narrowing ( alar base excisions) and was seen to have some nostril asymmetry. A revision rhinoplasty was performed in Toronto. One can see that the tip has been lifted to a more desirable position. The nose is now straight from the front view. The bump on the bridge has been reduced. Her nostrils are more symmetric but certainly not perfect. The appropriate position of the nasal tip depends on many factors. In general however we want the angle between the lip and nose to be greater then 90 degrees and the the tops of the nostrils to be just visible from the frontal view. This position is generally more youthful and attractive.
