Rhinoplasty Case
This young woman was displeased with the length of her nose, feeling that it extended too far from her face and created an unattractive appearance. She was also upset by the bump at the bridge of her nose, visible in her preoperative profile-view photograph. Researching her options for rhinoplasty surgeons in Toronto, she decided to meet with Dr. Rival based on his extensive training and clear experience providing satisfying results.
In her consultation, she and Dr. Rival discussed the best options to correct the asymmetry of her nose that, as her pre-operative photo demonstrates, was situated significantly lower on the left side. She was also concerned about her noticeably wide nasal bridge and her downturned nose tip.
Dr. Rival performed an open rhinoplasty on this patient in order to shorten and noticeably raise the tip of her nose. In this type of procedure, an incision is made across the columnella, the narrow strip of tissue that separates the nostrils, providing better access to reshape the nose’s structure. The dramatic improvements seen in this woman’s postoperative photos suggest the results that are possible from this kind of rhinoplasty.
At her follow-up appointment Dr. Rival confirmed that the patient’s nose is healing beautifully and already demonstrates significant improvement. The dorsal hump is now radically diminished and the tip of the patient’s nose is more precise and defined. This woman’s thinner nasal bridge is much more appropriate for her narrow face shape, and she is very pleased with the positive results and more confident look she enjoys as a result of her “nose job” in Toronto.
