Rhinoplasty Case
This young woman felt her nose was too large. The tip was overprojected and she had long nostrils. There was also a bump on the bridge of the nose. She was also noted to have a strong chin. Photos are shown after rhinoplasty with significant reduction of tip projection and nostril length. The dorsal hump has been reduced to produce a straight bridge as requested. It is important that after rhinoplasty the nose fits in better with the rest of the facial features. In her case as she has a strong projecting chin it is more attractive to leave a stronger nose to match this. If the nose was over reduced it would appear out of balance with her chin. There are often times when the chin is augmented with a chin implant or other procedure to increase the projection of the chin to achieve better balance (see case 55).
