Case 43
This young woman was displeased with the length of her nose, feeling that it extended too far from her face and created an unattractive appearance. She was also upset by the bump at the bridge of her nose, visible in her preoperative profile-view photograph. Researching her options for rhinoplasty surgeons in Toronto, she decided to meet with Dr. Rival based on his extensive training and clear experience providing satisfying results. In her consultation, she and Dr. Rival discussed the best options to correct the asymmetry of her nose that, as her pre-operative photo demonstrates, was situated significantly lower on the…

Case 15
This young woman felt her nose was too large for her face. This was partly because of over developed nasal bone and cartilage but also due to thick nasal skin. Skin thickness is very important in rhinoplasty. Thick skin can limit the amount of reduction possible as it does not shrink itself around the new nasal framework as well as thinner skin will. Reduction rhinoplasty performed to reduce and narrow the tip and the the bridge. The results may seem less dramatic secondary to her thicker skin. Gender: Female

Case 14
This Toronto area young man felt his nose was overprojected and was markedly asymmetric. From the view from below one can see the significant difference between the two nostrils. External approach rhinoplasty was required to improve the asymmetry. By reshaping the tip cartilages and with asymmetric nostril (alar base) reduction symmetry is much improved. In male rhinoplasty Dr Rival feels it is important to maintain a strong male profile. Notice nice healing of the external approach incision. Gender: Male

Case 103
This young woman had rhinoplasty in Toronto. She disliked the prominence of her nose. She felt it was too long and hated the profile view. Her pre operative photos reveal that her nose is long and she has a bump on the bridge giving a convex shape to the profile. The nose is also seen to be wide form the frontal view taking up “too much room” on the face. She underwent a rhinoplasty through a closed approach. The tip was lifted and set back and narrowed. The bridge was reduced and narrowed. One can now see a much more…

Case 102
This young woman had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty in Toronto. She felt her nose was too long and droopy especially with smiling. The nose always pulls down a bit with smiling due to a muscle that attaches to the base of the nose called the depressor septi. She also disliked the convex shape of the bridge in profile and had a deviated septum that can be seen from the view showing the nostrils. She wanted a very feminine nose with significant change. After photos show the tip has been lifted and the nose shortened. The profile is much softer and…

Case 101
This young woman underwent a rhinoplasty in Toronto. Her nose was mostly over projected in the tip and bridge. Closed rhinoplasty surgery was done to set back the tip and reduce the bridge. The slight droop was also corrected. The nose now is much less dominant on her face and her other attractive features stand out more.
