Case 78
This young woman had rhinoplasty in Toronto. She felt overall that her nose was too large. She was concerned however about reducing the nose too much. An analysis of her face revealed a nose that was over projected, slightly droopy or long and had a hump on the bridge. The nasal tip was also found to be somewhat wide or bulbous. She was noted also to have strong facial features with an attractive but prominent chin. Her rhinoplasty plastic surgery included lifting and setting back the tip closer to the face. Reduction of the nasal bridge hump and moderate narrowing…

Case 68
This young woman had a rhinoplasty elsewhere and was unhappy with the outcome. She had a persistent hump on the bridge. The tip was droopy and asymmetric and the nose appeared crooked. It was noted that the left tip cartilage ( the lower lateral cartilage) was larger and hung down more than the right tip cartilage. This produced a very asymmetric tip which can be seen also from the base view looking up the nostrils. An external revision rhinoplasty was performed to correct these concerns. Results are shown about 6 months after surgery. The bump has been reduced and the…

Case 81
This young woman presented for septorhinoplasty. Her main concern was that the nose was not straight and was very asymmetric. She also had difficulty breathing. Her before photos reveal a very difficult nose that is extremely deviated and asymmetric . There is a large depression on the right side of the tip. The profile view shows that the nose is somewhat overprojected. The view from below shows severe nostril asymmetry. An external septorhinoplasty was performed to straighten the deviated septum and tip. A graft of cartilage taken from the nasal septum was used to fill in the depression on the…

Case 87
This young woman underwent a rhinoplasty in Toronto. This was done through an endonasal or closed approach. Her main concern was with her profile which had a convex shape related to a large hump and mild droopiness of the tip. The after photos show a profile that now has a softer more feminine shape with a nice break before the tip accentuating the tip’s nice shape.

Case 89
This young woman disliked the shape of her nose. She felt it was too long and large for her face. She underwent a rhinoplasty in Toronto. Analysis of her nose reveals a hump on the nasal bridge, the tip is long and points downwards although has good definition and shape. She underwent nasal reshaping to reduce the hump and lift and set back the tip. This was done while maintaining the narrowness and natural definition of the tip she liked. Plastic surgeons who are experienced in rhinoplasty always try to use conservative techniques that preserve the natural attractive structure of…

Case 90
This young woman did not like the look of her nose. She felt the tip was too long and droopy and bulbous. She disliked her profile especially. She was found to have cartilages in the tip that were positioned in such a way that they are directed towards the middle. Surgeons call this cephalically oriented lower lateral cartilages or Paranthesis deformity. This often creates a prominent tip and droopy nose with poor airflow. A celebrity who I feel has this type of nose is Owen Wilson. Generally to correct this your rhinoplasty surgeon will change the position of the cartilages…

Case 92
This young woman disliked the shape of her nose. She was found to have a convex shaped bridge and mild tip bulbosity. The tip was shifted a bit to the right. She wished to have a more soft sloped feminine nasal profile and better tip definition. Results are shown at more than 2 years after a closed rhinoplasty. The tip is more defined. The bridge has a more attractive feminine shape as desired. The tip is also seen to be more in the midline.
