This young woman had previously undergone plastic rhinoplasty surgery in Toronto with another doctor. Unfortunately, she was unhappy with her results because she still had a persistent bump on her nose in the lower part of the bridge, and both her bridge and the lower section of her nose appeared to be very twisted. In addition to these aesthetic disappointments, she also had significant breathing difficulties that added physical discomfort to her self-consciousness. In her consultation with Dr. Rival this patient explored different options to revise her previous procedure and regain a more balanced, confident appearance. Because this patient’s internal…

Revision Case 36
This Toronto area patient underwent a rhinoplasty many years ago. She was displeased most that the nose was not straight and had a bump persisting on the bridge. She was also noted to have excess infratip lobule ( the peice that hangs down in between the nostrils). She had some retraction of her right nostril, tip bossa (knobs in the tip region) and extremely thin skin. She desired a conservative change leaving a high bridge. Photos following revision rhinoplasty show marked improvement in nasal contour. The nose is straighter, the tip bossa are gone, the bridge is straighter and particularily…

He underwent a rhinoplasty a few years ago from one of the other rhinoplasty surgeons in Toronto, but instead of feeling better about his new look, he was dissatisfied with his results. His nose still looked asymmetric in appearance and too much tissue had been removed from the top of the nasal bridge. After his surgery, the lower part of the patient’s bridge was still too large, and as you can see in the pre-operative photo, the tip of his nose was still…

Case 18
This young man decided to come in for a consultation for a revision rhinoplasty in Toronto after his previous rhinoplasty surgeon used an overly aggressive approach that left him with a lumpy, “scooped” looking nose that did not balance well with his other facial features. In his consultation, the man expressed interest in options to achieve a straighter and more consistent shape and restore some of the volume below his nasal bridge. Revision procedures tend to require special skill because the doctor has to create a pleasing shape at the same time as he corrects the the previous surgeon’s work.…
